Open Pathway Training

Note: Limited places are available, please apply early to ensure a place.

Introduction

The RYANI Open Pathway Training (OPT) is open to all Northern Irish sailors under the age of 16 in Topper, Optimist and Laser 4.7 classes.  Training may also be provided for U19s in the Laser class

It is aimed primarily at those sailors who wish to develop their racing skills with a Squad coach in order to help them gain a good understanding of racing within the class and  to go on to compete at open class events and the RYANI Youth Championships.

Some of the Open Pathway Training Days are planned around Topper Class Association Traveller dates.  Sailors should be at RYA Start Racing level and be able to competently sail around a triangular course in a force 3 and stronger.

Daily Format

Sessions will normally start at 10 am and end at around 4.45 pm.  Sailors should be rigged to get on the water as soon as possible in the morning.  Training gear (trainers etc) is also essential for on shore sessions/alternatives.  Sailors should bring their own packed lunch.

Costs

Each day costs £15, and participants must complete the Online Parent Consent form for each venue.
