2012 Race Managemnt Course dates have now been set.
Courses include a new training course, Dinghy Event Safety Management, not to be missed. All clubs who race should have a representative at these courses and conferences!
RYA Dinghy Event Safety Course
(Brand new course) One Day
Ballyholme Yacht Club – 0930 Saturday 24th March 2012
Running a safe, enjoyable Open Meeting requires planning, preparation and good strategy on the water – this course covers the complete safety process and procedures from risk assessment to on water management.
Who should attend – Essential for all Rescue Controllers/Crews, Safety Officers and anyone else interested in Saftey Boat management.
Course Cost £20.00 includes lunch (Payable on the day)
RYA Race Officials Conference
Holywood Yacht Club – 0930 Saturday 31st March 2012
Race Management update for all existing Race Officers, Judges and any other interested parties. The conference will include sessions on the new Race Management Seminar Format, the New Safety Management Course, Setting a Fair Line, Requests for Redress, Arbitration Process etc.
Who should attend – ROs and Judges who need to keep up their qualifications and any other parties interested in Race Management or Judging.
Course Cost £5.00 (Payable on the day) Lunch available at the Dirty Duck (100m)
RYA Race Management Seminar
(The RRO Course) Two Day
Ballyholme Yacht Club – 0930 Saturday 14th/Sunday 15th April 2012
Race Management for Open Meetings including preparation, organisation, course setting, signalling, starting and finishing, fleet management and what happens when it all goes wrong! This is a great interactive course. Includes 40 min Exam. (open book and only mandatory if going for RRO) Some preparatory work required – will be sent on registration.
Who should attend – Anyone wanting to apply for Regional Race Officer qualification, existing ROs wanting a refresh, race organisers and anyone interested in Open Meeting race management.
Course Cost £75.00 includes lunch both days
