The RYANI are happy to announce the Volvo Champion Club Volunteering Grants scheme is now available.

The RYANI Volunteer Grants programme aims to help clubs to support their volunteers, by providing financial assistance to clubs in order to recruit, recognise, train and develop the key individuals that make Volvo Champion Club activity a reality, by giving their time, experience and skills for the benefit of our sport.

Currently only clubs involved in Volvo Champion Club (VCC) programmes, or clubs that are working towards this programme, are eligible to apply for the grants.  The Grant Programme is currently available until March 2012, following which subsequent grants will be made depending on available funds.

Last year over £2,000 in grants were made to 6 RYA Champion Clubs and Clubs working towards VCC status in recognition of more than 100 volunteers; helping them gain qualifications in powerboating, coaching and instructing amongst other benefits for the delivery of junior programmes.

Guidance  notes set out the criteria and process for clubs and centres wishing to access the RYA Volunteering Grants.  Applications must be made by 31st January 2012.
