Local bursary winners set to sail with Clipper 11-12

Five local people are set for a life changing challenge as they set sail across the world, thanks to Derry City Council’s Clipper Round the World Race 2011-12 Bursary.

The five successful candidates, who all hail from the city, will join the Derry~Londonderry team on board the city’s Clipper Yacht for what promises to be a once in a lifetime experience

RYANI Volunteer Awards

RYANI are inviting nominees for the 2011 Annual Awards. There are three categories of award:

Club of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, Young Volunteer of the Year.

 

 

Cousins win places in 2011 Honda RYA Rib Final

Two young powerboating cousins from Northern Ireland are celebrating after powering their way to first place in the Northern Ireland Honda RYA Youth RIB Championship which took place at Quoile Yacht Club on Saturday 02 July.  

The event saw young powerboaters from across Northern Ireland put in their best performances on water as they competed in two age groups to win a place in the national final which takes place on September 18 at the PSP Southampton Boat Show 2011.  

Vetting Update - CPSU

The Child Protection in Sport Unit (CPSU) have released and update for sports bodies on the Vetting and Barring scheme.

There has been some publicity about the proposed changes arising from the UK government review of the Vetting and Barring Scheme (VBS) and the NI review of criminal records being conducted by the Department of Justice and how these may impact on sports organisations in Northern Ireland.
